DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Okeford Fitzpaine as listed:

• The Cross, Okeford Fitzpaine from outside Okeford Village Stores to the junction with Greenhayes;
• Shillingstone Lane, Okeford Fitzpaine from the junction with Greenhayes to Fitzpaine Avenue.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 13th November 2023 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22nd December 2023.
This Order will enable SGN safe access to replace a gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Castle Lane, A357, Poplar Hill, Shillingstone Lane and vice versa.
A hard closure will be place outside Maple Cottage and access will be maintained from the western side of the closure for residents and businesses within the closed stretch of road.
