Temporary Closure of Shillingstone Lane

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as
amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Shillingstone Lane, Okeford Fitzpaine from the entrance to Hurst & Hurst Estates Ltd, Shillingstone Lane to a point approximately 80 metres to the west (in both directions). The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2nd October 2023 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21st October 2023.

This Order will enable Gracelands Ltd to to excavate the highway and make utility connections. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Shillingstone Lane, Lanchards, A357, Castle Lane and vice versa.
