Higher Street is temporarily closed near The Pound. This is due to a fallen tree which has become entangled in an overhead power line. The police are in attendance and will call in the appropriate people to remove the tree and ensure the power line is not damaged.

We suggest that if you live nearby and use electricity to boil water you should fill a flask (just in case the power goes off).
