WE’RE RUNNING OUR MONTHLY EVENT IN OUR WINTER LOCATION (STURMINSTER NEWTON STATION ROAD CAR PARK DT10 1BN) THIS COMING SATURDAY FROM 9-12.
We are moving the event to our winter location this time. The Recreation Ground is now too wet to sustain the vehicles without damage.
It is much smaller and can only take about 120 vehicles. Unfortunately we will have to turn people away once it is full.
The turnout last time was brilliant again, in spite of the weather.
We had an amazing collection of vehicles from the 60s, 70s and 80s, as well as the vintage and classics. We also had a great turnout of some stunning bikes of all eras.
Just a reminder that there’s no need to book, no charge to attend, and parking in the town is free for the day.
You must ensure that you are insured, that your vehicle is safe and that you stay close to it if it has protrusions or access to features that may cause injury to members of the public ( particularly children).
While you are at the event, please have a look at some of our great and distinctive shops, we have our brilliant 1855 craft and artisan shop just round the corner from the event, which has beautiful products from over 100 local businesses. They have some lovely products that are ideal for Christmas presents.
We also have a local craft market in the Exchange Arts and Community Centre which is near to the main car park.
The usual breakfast and lunch venues are also available.
They are:
- Poet’s Corner – The cafe is on the corner opposite the main car park and has seating outside. All day full English breakfast, toast, bacon rolls and lunch snacks or light meals. Takeaways too. Open 08:30
- Joshua’s – Market Cross in the town centre opposite the Swan – does bacon rolls, pastries and coffee – take-out or eat in. Outdoor seating area opposite. Opens 09:00
- The Exchange – cafe in the community’s event venue directly north of the car park next to the Coop.
- The Old Indian House – serving lunches. Can be found just on the corner of Ricketts Lane as you come out from the event
- Oxfords – Market Cross – Bakery with a cafe serving Danish and other light food, and coffee
- Stur Of The Moment – opposite the top of the pedestrianised Station Road. Does full English breakfasts, many lighter options and Vegan or Vegetarian options. Open 9:00
- Harts of Stur – renowned major kitchen-ware and household store with a garden centre. Harts has a cafe upstairs serving a variety of food from breakfasts to lunches. It is on Station Road leaving the town towards Manston/Shaftesbury
- Olives Et Al – wonderful delicatessen on the way into Sturminster Newton from the west on the A357 in the North Dorset Business Park. They have a cafe there which is open before the start of the event
- Sweet Pea -Market Cross – pastries through to full english. Eat in or take away Opens 09:00
We look forward to seeing you all there.
