For our final Aviator’s Spotlight Fly-In, we turn to the aircraft class that is only growing in popularity… the Microlight!

At the turn of the 1980s, following the recreational rise in hang-gliding, aspiring pilots yearned for powered flight that wouldn’t break the bank! Resultantly, the world’s aviation authorities defined the “microlight” (or “ultralight”) – a lightweight, slower-flying, one or two-seat aircraft. Today, the microlight is the fun and affordable way to tour the country from above.

For the final instalment in our Aviator’s Spotlight fly-in series, any visiting microlights (less than 600kg max take-off weight) are treated to a free landing fee, in celebration of this simplified and stylish way to fly. PPR as normal, on 01747 811767.
