Acclaimed poet Luke Wright shares his adoption story – of the life he leads, and the one he might have done. What’s it like to stumble across your birth mother on Facebook? How do you honour the parents who have raised you while satisfying a curiosity about where you came from? Is it telling that you married a social worker? Wright navigates his audience through a warm and honest hour of poems and stand-up with the wit, pathos, and silliness that has made him one of England’s most popular live poets. Expect raucous laughter, tear-stained cheeks, and a smattering of drum n bass. A regular support act for John Cooper Clarke, Luke often appears on Radio 4, and has won a Fringe First for writing, and a Stage Award for performance.

Three Cane Whale is a multi-instrumental acoustic chamber-folk trio based in Bristol. Intricate, uplifting and elegiac in equal measure, their music encompasses both a cinematic sweep and an intimate delicacy, and is rooted in landscape, with many pieces inspired by places in Dorset and Somerset. Expect a stage strewn with upwards of a dozen instruments, some familiar, such as mandolin, harmonium, and acoustic guitar; and some beguilingly unusual.
