Join us for an autumnal fungi discovery at Bere Marsh Farm

Led by expert mycologist Andy Knott from Jurassic Coast Mushrooms, we’ll explore a variety of habitats at Bere Marsh Farm, looking for the many species of fungi which grow there.  From the tiniest emergent mushrooms so easily overlooked to the flamboyant Fly Agaric, Andy will help identify what we find and share fascinating fungi facts along the way.

In the past, the farm has been home to some nationally rare fungi species, including Lacquered Bracket (Ganoderma lucidum), Medusa Mushroom (Agaricus bohusii), Oak Bracket Fungus (Pseudoinonotus dryadeus) and Wrinkled Peach Mushroom (Rhodotus palmatus), and we hope to see some of these rarities and more again on this walk.

We’ll return to the Threshing barn at 12.30 where Andy will lead an identification session of the fungi seen on the walk. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.
