Growing a Vision for the Future – join us at the launch of a year of celebrations, as we look to our next one hundred years.

Over the century that has passed since the estate was acquired in 1926 by the painter Harold Squire, a member of the London Group, Springhead’s historic Mill and gardens have been a centre for the arts, music and traditional rural culture, and nucleus of the developing organic farming movement and the Soil Association. In the twenty-first century, Springhead continues to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to experience and value the rural environment, and to learn about the sustainable use of natural resources.

To mark our centenary, Springhead is launching a year of celebrations, consultation and fundraising with a public open day on Sunday 27th September. We are delighted that many local musicians, choirs and dancers will be here and performing throughout the day, including a cappella close-harmony choir, Palida, junior folk and traditional dance side, Steps in Time, and the White Horse Morris dancers, who celebrate their 75th anniversary this year. We do hope you can join us.

Gardens open from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm.

Light refreshments will be available to purchase from our pop-up cafe in the Mill.

Entry is free; donations towards the upkeep of the garden are welcome.

Assisted wheelchair access.

Dogs on leads are welcome.
