SATURDAY 6TH JUNE 2026

To commemorate the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day on the 6th June 1944, in collaboration with Aero Legends, there will be a special day at Compton Abbas Airfield. The sun will shine, the engines will roar and  history will come alive.

Delicious food and drinks will be available all day courtesy of Lore of the Sky.

YOU can be part of this anniversary D-Day. Special flights will be available to book in advance with Aero Legends, where you will follow the flight routes of D-Day Spitfires and the x 821 C-47 Dakota Troop Carrier Missions that flew in Operation Neptune on the 6th of June 1944. The Spitfires’ success in dominating the skies ensured the C-47s could complete their missions without interference from the weakened Luftwaffe.
