School Seeks Governor

We are looking for a Foundation Governor which is some one who has a connection with the Church and supports the governance of the school as a Church of England primary school.

School governors are unpaid volunteers who hold the Headteacher to account and ensure that the school is meeting their strategic objectives. Governors do not manage the operational day-to day functions of the school but oversee its long term objectives.

There are usually five Local Governing Board meetings in an academic year and there may be other adhoc meetings as required. Governors visit the school perhaps once a term to talk to the children and the staff in order to assess the progress being made by the children. A foundation Governor is also concerned with the religious aspect of their education.
