Join Dorchester-based folk singer Alastair Braidwood for a walk at Bere Marsh Farm, accompanied by traditional folk songs from Dorset and further afield.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stopping to sing folk songs that tell of the land, the people in it and the enduring connection we have to nature,\u00a0Alastair will lead us along the Angela Hughes nature reserve, developed from the\u00a0old\u00a0Somerset and Dorset\u00a0railway\u00a0line, and then\u00a0on\u00a0to Ham Down, with its wonderful views of the Dorset Stour and\u00a0Hambledon\u00a0Hill.\u00a0\u00a0Stopping\u00a0next\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0Nine Acre\u00a0field, our new wetland\u00a0site, Alistair will lead us onwards\u00a0then\u00a0towards Drove Pond and Mill Mead, framed by the tumbledown remains of the miller\u2019s cottage.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Movement and song sharpen the appetite,\u00a0so the walk finishes,\u00a0back at the farm,\u00a0with a hearty tea\u00a0of\u00a0homemade\u00a0savoury scones and cakes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Alastair Braidwood has sung traditional folk songs in Dorset for many years, and his Folk Song Walks have proved very popular since he started leading them a few summers ago.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He is often to be found leading rousing choruses in folk sessions, pint in hand, or striding through the Dorset countryside.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
