Gain knowledge and develop your skills in insect photography with expert Marilyn Peddle<\/h2>\n

Enjoy a warm welcome at Bere Marsh Farm at this fascinating event, with ten spaces only available. A talk from Marilyn Peddle LRPS about the art of close work in nature photography, followed by a walk and the opportunity to practise your close work photography skills. Marilyn will start the session with a presentation covering all aspects of nature photography, from what to look for and where to look for it, to weather conditions and how it influences compositions. Marilyn will also touch on what you can do in your own outdoor spaces to encourage insects to visit.<\/p>\n

After a break for tea, coffee and biscuits, Marilyn will lead everyone on a measured walk through the farm, stopping to discuss points of interest or challenges, and giving participants the opportunity to try out their improved skills.\u00a0Remember to bring your camera or phone.<\/p>\n

The Buzz Caf\u00e9 will be open for hot and cold drinks, snacks and sweet treats.<\/p>\n

About Marilyn Peddle<\/h2>\n

Marilyn\u2019s interest in photography comes from her love of the Dorset landscape, where she was born.\u00a0 But what started as a passing interest in taking pictures became a full-time passion with the advent of digital cameras.\u00a0 In 2014, Marilyn gained her Licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society, and she is currently President of the Blandford Forum Camera Club.\u00a0
\nMarilyn has held exhibitions locally, including a full exhibition of her wildlife photos at The Exchange, in Sturminster Newton, in 2024.\u00a0
\nLocally, Marilyn writes a monthly piece for the Nature News section of Child Okeford\u2019s village magazine, The Hill.\u00a0 If you were to ask the residents of Child Okeford, they would tell you that every month, awaiting the latest copy, they hold their breath to see what of her incredible photos will appear next on the front cover; although the Sea Eagle, which Marilyn captured in its full splendour soaring over the village last year, will remain in the collective memory for some time.\u00a0
\nMarilyn is often seen taking her measured way across fields, a camera slung across her back, always looking closely, at hedgerows and ditches, noting the preciseness of insect life, which many of us miss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    Join us for a fun, practical session led by estate manager Hannah and our volunteer team. Using our pond dipping platform we will dip in the drove pond and identify the species there.
