Sir Derek Jacobi in conversation with Richard Clifford<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir Derek Jacobi \u2018is an icon of Stage and Screen\u2019 \u2026 known for his work at the Royal National Theatre, has a BAFTA, Olivier, Emmy, Screen Guild and Tony Award and to top it all off; Derek was given a Knighthood for his services to theatre by Queen Elizabeth II. \u00a0Not bad for a boy who grew up in Essex, the son of a corner shop owner and a secretary. From Leytonstone and the Leyton Players to \u2018Hamlet\u2019 at the Edinburgh Fringe and a scholarship to Cambridge.<\/p>\n

With peers such as Ian McKellen and Trevor Nunn; Derek is a founding member of the National Theatre and was invited to be a member of the Birmingham Rep. \u00a0Derek is an enormous talent with Shakespeare running through his blood and having starred in almost every Shakespearian play, notably in \u2018Hamlet\u2019 and \u2018Othello\u2019, two of the greats.<\/p>\n

Six decades and so many big screen favourites\u2026 \u2018I, Claudius\u2019, \u2018Gladiator I\u2019 and \u2018Gladiator II\u2019, \u2018Last Tango in Halifax\u2019, \u2018The Crown\u2019, \u2018The Day of the Jackal\u2019, \u2018Nanny McPhee\u2019, \u2018Gosford Park\u2019 and \u2018The King\u2019s Speech\u2019 to mention just a few of his triumphs. And let\u2019s not forget, his audio book work, which includes \u2018The Night Garden\u2019 for the BBC children’s series another huge hit. \u00a0There is no doubt that Derek has an incredible body of work.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0Richard Clifford is an actor and director. Richard has appeared in films such as \u2018Much Ado About Nothing\u2019, \u2018Love\u2019s Labour\u2019s Lost\u2019, \u2018Frankenstein\u2019 and \u2018Murder on the Orient Express\u2019 (all directed by Kenneth Branagh), \u2018My Week With Marilyn\u2019 and \u2018Justice League\u2019, as well as TV such as \u2018The Crown\u2019 and \u2018It\u2019s A Sin\u2019. Theatre credits include \u2018Amadeus\u2019 at Chichester and \u2018Henry V\u2019 in the West End. He has directed productions at Washington\u2019s Folger Shakespeare Theatre for over 20 years. With Richard in the driving seat for the evening, there will be incredible insight, joy of Shakespeare\u2026 and so much more, as he is also Derek\u2019s partner.<\/p>\n
